Beginning to see the START line...

¡Los Extraño Mucho a Todos Ustedes!

I ran out of days in July! That was the shortest, longest month of my life thus far. Everything has remained fantastic, the classes, the devotionals, and of course the food. I think the monsoon season is coming to an end because we haven't gotten a decent rainstorm in 5 days! But the temperatures are still relatively nice. I think we finally got over 80° the other day! I am praying for the people of Portland because I know that they are trying to survive the 105° plus temperatures. So unlike that region, but with that last winter I guess the summer has to match.

I just want to testify of the power of the Gift of Tongues. Elder Guymon has learned so much Español that it's almost making me jealous of how quick he's been able to pick it up. I've learned a lot as well, but over a couple of years. He just began 4 weeks ago and now he has the confidence to carry out a conversation with the Latinos. He is going to be awesome in the field!

As I approach the end of my experience here at the CCM, I've thought of how I counted down the days until I left for my mission in July. I was counting down the days until my life would change forever. But now as I begin to see how close my time is to the real thing, I don't want to count down, rather to count up.
I want to make everyday count! So instead of focusing on the 12 days I have left, I am going to focus on the 12 days I have to prepare. Each day will be an addition to the last. I will study, I will learn, I will practice, I will speak and I will pray. This is the only time in my life to be a young missionary in the heart of México. So why not give it my all? Why not thrive to the end? I've worked this hard, and the race hasn't even begun. I know that the Lord is on my side. I know that he will carry me when I can't give anymore because I will have given all I've got. I am called to serve, I am called to rescue. I am preparing everyday to build God's Kingdom. And it started well before I put my mission papers in.

I am so grateful for all the love and support I get from you all! I will write one last time from the CCM next week before His Work finally begins.

Love,
Elder Fonnesbeck

P.S. Shout out to the Allen family! I talked with Elder Allen yesterday during dinner 40 minutes after he arrived. I am excited someone from home is here with me. He seemed a little taken back from the events of yesterday, but so was everyone else who arrived with him. When I run into him again I'll make sure to give him some advice on how to survive here.

*Now that a new month has begun, I am going to start using a system to keep up on emails. Each week I'll focus on specific family and friends.
1st Week - Weekly Update & Sibling
2nd Week - Weekly Update & Parents
3rd Week - Weekly Update & Extended Family
4th Week - Weekly Update & Friends
5th Week - Weekly Update & Missionaries
