¡Dieciséis semanas en dentro a la obra misional!

¡Hola Familia Fonnesbeck!

Wow! I am a little jealous that you all got to experience Lake Powell because you know how much I love the red rocks of southern Utah. But it only gets me excited for the future when we still can go down as a family again and you can take me to all the best canyons and cliffs. Sister Hendry was nice to let you borrow all those missionary movies. I bet you got a decent idea of what I get to experience everyday out here in the field. I hope school is still fun for everyone, especially now that we're going to be already diving into the time of thanksgiving before we know it. I just had a thought a little bit ago, in two months time I will be able to skype home for Christmas! Crazy huh? But until then you'll have to deal with my emails. I'm super excited to hear that we are getting a Krispy Kremes in Logan. There is one in my area and I always look for the "Hot Sign" to be on, just like when we were all little kids in Salt Lake. Those donuts are really good. I do miss Johnny-O's though. Nothing beats a fresh donut from there.

I was able to give a way a couple more Libros de Mormón this last week. The first was on Tuesday when we stopped by some who was on our list. She was a mother with quite a few niños. Her name was Blanca and we testified how this book can bring happiness to her family. Excited she gladly excepted Bridger's libro. Last night I gave another one away to a father this time. We were knocking doors in an apartment complex when these kids opened the door. We asked if they were excited for Halloween and what not, then asked for a parent. The dad came to the door and we again testified of the Libro de Mormón which he accepted. Brady's libro is now with Alberto and his family as we plan on visiting with him tonight. I have almost given away all the libros, only a few left. I make sure that I am the one handing it over to the person as I open the front cover over to explain my family's testimony in it. I am grateful for all your efforts in putting that package together during my first transfer. It has been a blessing for me to be able to gift somebody the word of God.

The work has been super crazy this last week. A lot of things have happened, between new investigators to teach and Alexis. We have been teaching Alexis a ton this week. He has really started to take hold of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had a lesson with him thursday afternoon where we were teaching him more of the Plan of Salvation. He was able to tell us back the whole plan really well by the end. After this we got really serious with him and asked if he would follow the example of Christ and be baptized the 4th of November. He said yes! We were really excited for him and we told him that we would make sure he feels ready by then. But something crazy happened the next day. We get some random texts while coming home from futbol Friday night from him. He explains something crazy has happened to him and that he wants to tell us. So we call him and he explains how he felt the Holy Ghost really strong and he knows that he should be baptized. He didn't want to tell us what exactly happened because he wanted to share it in sacrament meeting. We said that we could make that happen for sure. I can't tell how excited I was for him. My joy was beyond anything I can describe. I am sure that Heavenly Father feels the same way for every one of His children when the choose to accept His son and His gospel. So at church yesterday he got up there and shared his experience. Honestly I got the gist of it, but to make sure I get it right so I still want to talk to him personally about it so I can tell you about it. He is solid and I have so much love for him as my brother.

I look forward to this week and pray that yours will be fantastic as well!

Con mucho Amor,
Elder Fonnesbeck

PS-Shout out to Mikaylie on her call to Cleveland! Congrats and I wish you luck on you mission!

PPS-Mary just do what you've done before, take it easy and don't stress. The last time you take the ACT it will be your best:)

These are the messages Alexis sent us Friday :)

This was a fun corn maze, it is shaped like a salmon

Elder Clarke said 'Look at that!' I said, 'What?
Then it made sense, someone wrote John 3:16-18 in the dust
on the back of the bus😆
