¡Tengo Gozo en mi Alma Hoy!

¿Como fue su semana Fonz Fam?

I was so excited to read how everyone is doing so well. You boys are crazy fast! We're going to have to race when I get back for sure, but don't let it get to your head;) Humility is a Christ-like attribute that brings us more happiness and success when we apply it to our lives. Mountain Crest is still on top this year. Wow, I'm blown away by how much success they've had playing this year.  However Friday nights game sounded cold! I can only imagine how dad must feel having to brave the bitter cold in his ski gear! Fortunately I haven't had to wear much of a coat here. The nights are chilly, which are making the trees beautiful, but during the day I can still wear short sleeve white shirts comfortably.

So I checked up on Inocencia Tuesday night and she invited us in but gave us some unfortunate news. She said that she wasn't really interested and wanted to just stay Catholic. She handed back Benjamin's Libro de Mormón even though we pressed her to keep it. Last night though we got a call from a member who wanted us to give a blessing of health to his son-in-law's mother. She wasn't a member and so this was a great opportunity to share the gospel. After an hour long conversation we invited her to read the Libro de Mormón. She was intrigued by the story line and it's teachings. After the lesson I quickly grabbed his Libro and explained it to her. She accepted it and held it to her chest. I'm really happy that I know this book has found somebody who's testimony will grow.

My Zone Leaders had a baptism this last Saturday which was a perfect opportunity to bring an investigator to. So of course we asked Alexis if he wanted to come and he did! After the baptism program we went up to the girl who was baptized and he asked a few basic questions about her decision. She bore a powerful testimony how there couldn't be any other church, any other way that could be more correct. He thanked her for it and I know he took it to heart. Later at church the next day he asked me if we had a goal for him to be baptized. I told him that we did but that it was ultimately his decision. He said that he would be baptized once he reads the whole Libro de Mormón. So we've continued to check on him everyday to make sure he does his reading. I continue to have faith that he will come to know the truth for himself. His faith requires action, and as long as he does what he needs to do, he will be baptized.

Something I testified of during one of lessons was of how understanding the gospel doesn't come all at once. Sometimes we feel that we need to know everything about every topic. Sometimes we want to read the Book of Mormon as fast as we can. Sometimes we want to testify as strong as an apostle. Those things aren't impossible, or unrealistic but take time. Our testimonies can be built upon poco a poco so that one day when we share it, the Spirit can fill our words with power. I've come to realize this as I've experienced many changes to my testimony. I know that we can live each day with a surety in Christ that he will always be there and help us in our trials. "Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and love."

To everyone back home, I love you and Pray for safety and joy for you in this coming week!

Con Amor,
Elder Fonnesbeck
