¡El Día de Acción de Gracias

Hola Fonzfam!

Earlier this week I went on an exchange as part of my responsibility as District Leader with Elder Hunsaker. I was on bike for another 24 hours in the rain and it was so fun! Even though the rain was heavy and cold we just enjoyed our time talking to every one we saw. Throughout the exchange we just kept having success with almost everyone we talked to. We gave out at least eight Book of Mormons and set up return appointments with like four other people. Elder Hunsaker is a really good missionary and he has just been out since the end of September.

Thanksgiving this year was so much fun! We were invited by the Morales family in our ward for dinner. When we walked in our eyes widened as we saw all the traditional Thanksgiving food Hermana Morales had prepared. She knew what was up because there was everything you could've expected: Funeral potatoes, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with toasted marshmallows, mashed potatoes, Costco rolls, asparagus wrapped in bacon, and of course, the beautiful bird itself! We felt so blessed to be able to have a traditional meal in the home of such wonderful members. It was a real thought that we would be having some form of tacos for dinner, but we were safe to assume the best.

The next day I was able to go on another exchange with my zone leaders. I went with Elder Keesler in the YSA ward for a day and had a lot of fun there. We contacted a lot of former investigators but didn't have as much success as in my previous exchange. But what I love about going on exchanges with other missionaries is that I get to learn so much about them and who they are. I get to learn about their family, what their goals are in life, and other personal things relating to their motivation for serving a mission. It is always fun and I enjoy the time doing other types of missionary work to break up the days a little better.

As a lot of you may have noticed, the #LightTheWorld(#IlluminaElMundo) campaign has just begun. As missionaries this is such a useful tool when talking to people about the church. We have found so much success with explaining that these videos are about keeping Christ in Christmas. In the first launch video we are able to see how doing simple things can make all the difference. By using our talents and giving more of ourselves can we fully feel Christ's love. There are so many around us who need extra blessings. I invite you all to watch and share these videos everyday starting with the launch video to day 25. I am so excited for Christmas, especially as a missionary. What's crazy to think is that by the end of this year I will have been out for six months! Time really does work differently when you take a step out of the world.

Four weeks now until we get to talk face to face! If each of you could write and send a specific question for me to think of for when we get to talk on Christmas. That way we won't waste any of our valuable video time. I am so grateful for the amazing Thanksgiving/Christmas package you sent me, plus it was able to get to me on time. I love you guys so much and have missed being able to spend the holidays with you, but as always we will be able to spend plenty together in the future.

Enjoy going back to school, it's always hard after a good break. I can't wait to hear from you next week. Love you tons!

Coloring pencils plus Thanksgiving tablecloth equals happy missionaries:)

¡La comida fue muy delicioso!

¡Muchísimas gracias por el regalo!

Elder Blackmer and I were on a blitz together and were invited in to help a non member build a wall in his house, and in return he listened to our message.
