Hola Fonzfam,
Don't you just love this time of year?! Literally everyone's mood has changed for the better and we've been able to have way more success when approaching people. #LightTheWorld has been so successful and our mission is lighting up with the Christ center messages everyday.
Earlier this week Elder Moffat and I were tracting an area we've never been to before. The first door was a former investigator who hasn't been taught in over two years. We had a great conversation with her and she is open to being taught again. She use to be Catholic but doesn't like the culture, and she was able to express her personal beliefs and most were aligned the way of Christ's gospel. We were able to get a return appointment set for this Friday so next week I'll let you know how it goes.
The next two houses were really open as well and happily accepted a Book of Mormon, but we referred them to the English sisters who are over that specific area. One was a woman who has a PhD in romantic languages, she was very nice but also very interesting. The other was an older man setting up Christmas lights. He was very humble and invited us to come over whenever we're in the area.
The next house was Spanish, but after showing the man at the door the #LTW video and offering an LDM he didn't want to accept it. But the craziest thing happened the next day. We had just gotten home when we got a call from a member of one of the English wards. She had gotten into a fender bender the day earlier with a man who couldn't speak any English and wanted us to help her translate some insurance things. When she sent us their address we realized that it was the house we were at the day before. What apparently happened was that this member had hit this Hispanic man's car just a couple hours after we visited him. Then she felt that he needed the gospel in his life so she found our number and actually just wanted us to help place an LDM. We got a second chance and we made the most of it. We ended up being able to visit with the whole family and was able to strike their interest with the LDM. Tonight we will be able to meet with them again to share the message of the Restoration.
Recently I haven't written much about Alexis and his progress. The week before his baptism he expressed his concerns about it and didn't feel like he's learned all he can yet and wants to be more prepared. We acknowledged his concerns but had to drop him as our investigator. It was really hard since we have worked with him so much, but they say that usually by the 7th contact a person will accept the gospel. Personally, I feel that his Catholic family had pressured him out of it more than anything. Because of his age he still is trying to figure out who he is and his family is still a big influence, which isn't a bad thing. For now we are working to pass him off to the members who really love him and want him to progress. He is only one though, there are so many more elect out there and I pray that I will be able to find them.
I'm super excited to open a gift each morning from the stocking you guys sent me. The pjs are really comfy and the nativity is set up where we can see it everyday. I've shared a golden Christmas box with a few members this last week and all them have loved the idea of writing down a little gift from Christ and keeping it in there. We have set up tons of lessons and visits with some other members this upcoming week and I can't wait to share it with them. Thank you again for taking the time to put that whole package together and send it in time for me to get started on all that you put in there to share. It's definitely helping to light up the Tualitin Valley Spanish Ward!
Another week closer to our face to face chat! If you have any other questions for me just send them my way and I'll be able to answer them when the time comes. I love you all and miss you every day! Have a great week and do your best to serve and seek inspiration from the #LightTheWorld videos.
Con amor de su misionero favorito,

The nativity is always so beautiful when it is floating on the reflection pool!
Last night we went with our Spanish youth to the temple Visitor's Center
to watch a live harp recital.
The music was very soft and beautiful, reminded me of home:)
