Our Best Christmas Present this year, our Missionary Skype/Phone Conversation

Christmas season can be very difficult for any family who is away from the ones they love.
As a family we now know this feeling first hand.
This was especially tough for Brant & I who have never even had a Christmas ever
before without our Branson.  But we looked forward to the gift of
our missionary skype/phone conversation with much anticipation!

Christmas morning we recreated the Christmas Nativity
through scripture and make-shift costume on the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Brady (stood in for Branson as Joseph this year) with Mary.

Then finally 2 pm. arrived & through much prayer our SKYPE worked!
With joyful hearts we saw & heard our missionary greeting us!

Hello Elder Fonnesbeck!!  (it was an emotional reunion for all of us)

Elder Fonnesbeck could tell our surroundings were different...he said where are you guys?!
We said Merry Christmas from the Oregon Coast!
(to feel closer to him this year we surprised all the kids with a coastal polar express vacation and
so on Christmas Day we enjoyed a train stop visit in a Oregon Beach House rental located in Yachats, OR.)

Our Family Christmas Portrait 2017

It was an emotional conversation for us all.
Though we have shared weekly emails and
remained close through prayer & testimony sharing
nonetheless we just wanted to reach through the screen
and hug each other tightly.
We enjoyed each minute & ended with Brant offering a family prayer.

Then Elder Fonnesbeck clicked the button to hang up first as we said our good-byes.
Brady especially was beside himself after our 40 minute conversation.
He misses his BIG brother.

Luckily Heavenly Father has provided the peaceful, soothing beach
to collect our thoughts and calm our emotions.
And so after our good-byes...outside we ventured as a family
to offer gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the opportunity
to wish our missionary a Merry Christmas!

What a sunset as we enjoyed on this beautiful Christmas for our family!
