Esto es el Fin de Mi Tiempo en Tualatin

¡Hola Fonzfam!

So many great things happened this week that I don't know where to begin! We were able to have another powerful lesson with Rosa and her family this last Saturday about the Word of Wisdom. We were kind of worried about coffee or something like that but she doesn't drink any of it. That makes things easy! And for the first time in a month her spouse (more or less) came and sat in on the lesson. He's wanting to change and learn more, and we can tell by all his questions and insight that he shared with us. We weren't sure if he was being serious about it until he came to church with Rosa yesterday! It was so cool to see them sitting all together singing hymns and listen to the talks. The theme for sacrament meeting was on temples and eternal families. God knows what he's doing;)

‎During the week we were walking through one of our prime Latino neighborhoods and saw about 5 or 6 kids playing some street ball. Elder Montague and I quickly took up the opportunity and played for a half hour with them. Neither of us are very good, but at least we were taller and could dunk it pretty easily. Afterwards I grabbed on our BoMs and shared Helaman 5:12 and talked with these 14 and 15 year olds about having Christ as our foundation. It was a really cool experience and we're going to start teaching one of the kids and his family soon.
‎Early Friday morning we woke up just before 6am to get ready for a service project which was to make breakfast for the Chamber of Commerce here in Tualatin. The head cook is an awesome Christian named Julio. In preparation we made so many eggs, hash brown potatoes, sausage links, and coffee. As a Mormon we can't drink coffee, but we can make it right? Well, Julio put me in charge of making the regular and decaf coffee. I told him that I've never made it before but he showed me and he was right, it's pretty easy, but it stinks! I'm definitely not a fan. There ended up being over 80 people there and we still had left overs! By the end Julio was grateful for our efforts and willingness to come in early and help out(unfortunately he doesn't realize it yet but we're converting him, he would make a great Mormon!)

‎Transfers are on Wednesday and they've changed up the way they give us our news. So on Sunday night we get a call of whether we're staying or not and another call if we are in leadership or not. We aren't told where our next area will be until it's posted online at the end Monday. It's always fun to get the news relatively first, then as District Leader I get to tell the other companionships what's happening to them. Probably the biggest surprise I got was when my Zone Leaders told me that I was leaving and that Elder Montague would be staying (5 transfers for him here, it's going to be over 7 and half months for him in one area!). I don't know where I'm headed off to serve as a new Zone Leader but I have a few personal predictions.

I have been blessed to be companions with Elder Montague for the last 3 months and have learned so much from him. I'm really sad to be finishing up our time together, it really has been an amazing journey. The miracles that we have witnessed together are never going to be forgotten.

I miss you guys so much and I can't wait until Mother's Day to get to talk with you again.
Love ya,
Elder Fonnesbeck

PS-Our mission office address has just changed to 1400 NE Compton Dr, Suite 250, HILLSBORO, OR 97006. Make sure people know this so that the mail actually comes through. I want to keep hearing from y'all!

It was such a great day that we took some of our lawn chairs off our back porch,
somehow fit them in our Corolla,
and set them out in the park for companionship & language studies.

I love my District!
Thanks for such a great transfer!

Another rainbow Mom!
What a miracle it was to see this morning rainbow on the way to workouts!

Mahalo for the Aloha package from Hawaii!
