Happy Easter FonzFam!
It's been awhile since I've written a letter to all of you! I apologize for that and hope this one plus the package make it up. Since becoming Zone Leader over two weeks ago I've been able to learn and grow so much. Working with Elder Matheson has been a privilege as together we have been working hard to figure out our new area.
This last week we had a cool experience where we prayed for an unplanned opportunity to OYM somebody and give them a Book of Mormon. We went into the apartment complex with faith to find. It wasn't until our last door that somebody answered. A younger woman answered and we asked her if she had talked to missionaries before. She explained how they used to come by when she was in high school, but nothing until us. She wasn't particularly religious or interested in what we had to say until she mentioned how her husband and her were wanted to begin a Bible study together.
We offered the Gospel Library App and she downloaded it right then. After we quickly explained the BoM and how it supports the Bible, not replaces it. She didn't know that before and so she asked how she could get one. We were like, "Well this one right here is for you." She took it and said how excited she was to study it with her husband. Unfortunately she'll be for the family ward Elders, but it was really neat how she was open enough to turn her interest towards the Book of Mormon.
In the Book of Mormon we learn more about Christ's suffering for us and His atoning sacrifice. Alma 7:11-13 is such a powerful account of what the Atonement of Jesus Christ is. It describes how Christ sacrificed himself and how He knows each of our pains and afflictions. Because of Him we are able to have our sins blotted out which then allows us to return to our Father in Heaven.
Easter is when we celebrate the Resurrection, the fulfillment of the Plan of Salvation. We enjoy those blessings today and will continue to forever. With our very first Easter apart I am glad to still be with you in spirit. Enjoy the holiday together, as well as Conference! I know that I am so blessed to have all of you in my life and I hope that God will always continue to bless you. I love you so much! Happy Easter!
