¡Tuvimos un Bautismo y Muchos Milagros!

¡Hola Fonzfam!

¡Feliz Cumpleaños Brock! You're finally 8! Your birthday sounds like it was so much fun, I can't wait to go to the aquarium again with you guys. And you're going to be baptized soon too! That's crazy but I'm so excited for you bud:) While you were celebrating your awesome birthday I was able to hitch a ride over to my old area in Tualatin for Rosa and Eddie's baptism. It was so good to see Elder Montague again and so many member of the branch as well! The baptism was incredible and very well done. After she was baptized, Rosa timidly bore her testimony and thanked Christ for that experience and she thanked all the members who had become great friends to her and her kids. The tears running down her face were full of joy and of the Spirit. Her son, Eddie, was so awesome and so excited to be baptized too. He's been such a great example to his younger siblings and he's going to be able to get the Aaronic Priesthood too, which will bless his family. Words cannot describe the feelings of joy I have for them and for the spiritual growth they've had over the past few months. They've become family to me and I will never forget them.

We shared this miracle in our zone messenger chat, so I wanted to share it with you guys. We had a pretty slow Friday, and by about 8:30 we hadn't been able to hand out any BoMs. So at this point we just wanted to give out one or we wouldn't go home. We found a complex to walk around and when we pulled up there was a woman out smoking. We both knew that she was the one. We went and talked with her and found out that her grandparents were both members and that at one point she was investigating and had a baptismal date. She just didn't feel like she was ready for baptism then, but we asked if it is something she wanted and she said yes! We taught her principles of the Word of Wisdom and of the BoM. She really seemed to have been prepared and ready to hear this message again as we gave her a BoM and referred her off to her appropriate missionaries. Miracles happen when we're diligent and simply out working. And most importantly they happen because we're in Miraclewaukie!!!!

Last night we had a pretty cool lesson with a guy named Jacob, who we OYMed during the week. When we showed up he welcomed us in and immediately starting going off on how he was so happy that there was a record of the ancient Americans. He said that he was not satisfied with what he learned when he was younger in his old Christian church about everyone over in Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon is something that really excited him and he said that he will read it everyday at work(he works as a security guard so he said he's got lots of time;) He also shared with us another cool thing about why he was so welcoming to us. About a week ago he had been praying for an opportunity to get back into church and to have God more in his life. Then he said we showed up. I was like, "What?! No way!" He is so excited to learn and can't wait for our next lesson this upcoming week. Prayers really do get answered when you have a true desire and the faith to receive.

Our zone has been seeing so many miracles and I think it's because of the fast we did a couple of weeks ago. We fasted for new investigators and we've been seeing more and more success. There are so many crazy things that have been happening that makes me so excited for the coming weeks ahead. Everyone is being so diligent and we're turning this zone around! It's definitely been the key to success as nothing in missionary work happens until you find people to teach.

Love you all,
Elder Fonnesbeck

Check out this awesome carving someone did of an eagle in their front yard!
