¡Comparte un Testimonio simple!

¡Hola Fonzfam!

Can you believe that it's already been a week from our last call?! Again, I am so glad that we were able to have it as I know it blessed my life and all of yours. What an exciting time of year as school grows closer to an end for everybody. All the kids here still have 4 weeks or so, but I can tell that they're wanting to be done already.

This week was literally nuts with everything that was going on! But it's these kind of weeks that make doing the work the most fun and memorable. We did an exchange with our Spanish district leader this last Thursday. Having a whole day to go around and speak Spanish again was something I really enjoyed. We taught this one investigator about how service can help us forget ourselves and feel a Christ-like love towards those we're serving. She is someone who's testimony of the LDM is strong and baptism something that she wants so bad, but because of her living circumstances she can't right now. She's coming to church and teaching her daughters about the gospel too!

The following day Elder Matheson and I headed to President Bullen's house for the leadership breakfast and then off to MLC for the rest of the morning into the afternoon. We were trained by him and Sister Bullen as well as the Assistants about how to better set goals as a zone. We focus on each companionship first by asking what they think that they can accomplish in a week for instance. Then with that we come together as a district and reevaluate and set a district goal. When the district leaders and us get together, we discuss those goals and make specific plans as a zone. And there we go, goals made and everyone knows what they must do to accomplish it.

A lot of the Oregonians that we've talked to have commented on how it's suppose to be still raining this time of year. Really it's normally dark from October to June, but it hasn't been that way at all. I figure most people enjoy the sun and the dry warmth it brings. Relating this to a gospel standpoint, the rays of light the gospel shines on our lives brings countless blessings. The different people we meet everyday are either in the shadows and are comfortable with that or they're wanting to move out of it into the light. Some are already standing in the light but unfortunately don't recognize it as light due to any number of reasons. It's our job as missionaries and members of Christ's church to help others find and recognize the light as truth that originates from the scriptures and foundation-ally from Jesus Christ himself. We can do this from sharing a simple testimony with friends online, in person, or through writing a little personal note. When we do something simple like that with meaning it can go a long way. I encourage you to try it out before the end of the month! Think of somebody who could use an uplifting message and think from their perspective on how far it would go if it was for you. If you have any cool experiences shoot me an email, I want to hear about them!!!

I love you guys so much and I hope this week goes great for everyone!
Love,
Elder Fonnesbeck

This member OYMed us and offered us some pork chops
and one thing led to another and we ended up with a python and a tarantula too!

This was Elder Leonard's last exchange of his mission.
He'll be heading home in a couple weeks on June 6th.
